You wouldn't like me when I'm angry

So, what happened... The company I am working for is going through some financial problems, not really unusual considering how wonderful our economies seem to be.. Anyway, a manager (known as Bulldog) called me after a 2 week vacation, not to ask me how my day was.. Oh no, to literally scream at me for not doing anything about the company's financial woes.. Mind you, he knows very well I've been running around, short of moving heaven and earth to get a sale going that should more than cover the amount owed to the bank, but I suppose Bulldog wanted to show, as most dogs do, to show who is boss.. And what do dogs do to show their dominance? Growl and show off their teeth, well this is his way, telephone style..

Of course, like most canines, you cannot really reason with them. Bulldog went on and on, screaming and threatening and yelling. Now, its one thing to scream, but to accuse and threaten.. Honey, that's a whole other ball game. After the line got cut off (blessing in disguise?), he called me back 2 hours later, while I am picking up my son from school, again screaming and then threatening to auction off the property I was almost ready to sell (in fact all documents are ready this week for signing) and not giving any residue to the company - this was not called for at all..

What does a pissed off woman like me do? As they say, "Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned" and what does this scorned woman do - speak to the superior offices at that bank and told them what Bulldog said.. Basically it was a mini victory for me as they also agreed that Bulldog was out of line and even though our company has financial problems, as long as we are doing something about the problem, that's what matters.. I explained that we are doing something but there's a way of speaking to a long-standing customer like our organization and one would expect a top official to be more civil.. Haha!

Anyway, more updates to followed with I'm sure, another screaming phone call..

Bugs... really?

Out of pure boredom, I decided to do a Looney Tunes personality test (watching an hour of that on YouTube with a 5 year old will do that to you) and I ended up getting Bugs Bunny on two separate tests..

At first, I was shocked.. I don't really see myself as a long-eared, perky conniving little brat.. But I started (like I always do) to analyze the characteristics of Bugs that make him and me so similar.. Like him, I try and be optimistic about whatever life throws at me.. And of course, being a struggling writer, I do attempt to be creative.. Of course, I could not build schemes or plans as they usually backfire on me..

However, saying that, like Bugs, I do have the "gift of the gab" i.e. I can improvise or talk myself out of most problems.. Like my mother once said, I missed my calling as a lawyer many moons ago. Bugs's favorite line in most of his early cartoons is "Of course, you know this means war" which I can totally identify with. I am sure most of us can, if we feel threatened by someone or something, we are not going to cower and cover our heads.. We will fight, or attempt to save our own skins, which ever comes first...

But it is interesting to note, that Bugs, unlike myself, usually enjoys torturing and tormenting his victims whether it be getting them into a more unpleasant experience - almost like an evil version of karma. I suppose that's where the similarities end and the differences begin.

Who would have thought cartoons could reflect reality :)

Making sense of it all

Like the blog title says, I am attempting to connect the dots in my life.. We all suffer from 'randomness' - a particular malady that is characterized by seemingly random events in our lives that eventually connect themselves in an equally random manner. I consider it an illness or even a curse but its supposed to teach us lessons along the way. Good or bad, this blog is my attempt to try and make sense of the journey my life seems to take and hopefully you will enjoy the ride. Stay tuned!
